Hey there I'm Keeb!

Post by Keeb »

Hi everyone I'm Keeb!

I've been making fursuits alongside my partner Cat as COMPUTER MITES.
I mostly man the sculpting, (some) patterning + hardware additions, and gluing of our suits! I've always been into making clay mini figures since I was in the 7th grade off and on so now that I've graduated college, I've used that interest to make fursuits. You can see some of our work on Cat's introduction :3

Other than fursuit making I am a big lover of puppets and am excited to make more! So far I've only made 4 sock puppets (3 mantis, 1 sheep), 4 little Audrey II puppets + one BIG Audrey II (collaboratively) for a small production of Little Shop of Horrors. I'm an illustrator and have been drawing since I was a wee lad. I am also an Audio Visual video technician and am super interested in projection mapping, experimental performance art, video art, and large scale productions!

Lastly, I am a BIG fan of bugs! I'm especially a lover of beetles, mantis, and hummingbird moths (hence my fursona hehe). I owned a sweet little stag beetle named JPEG and I would be happy to share some photos of and talk about. I've noticed not a lot of information is available in English for beetle owning that isn't locked behind discord servers
Similarly, I pin insects and would be happy to share info about that since its also locked behind discords or in person events..

This is the first forum I've been apart of and I'm super excited to post more! Nice to meet all of you!

OMG I would *love* to see stag beetle pictures 🥺
Puppetry sounds like such a fascinating combination of art, sculpting and technical know-how--it probably takes a lot of precision to make sure everything moves in the proper fashion!

Welcome to the forum Keeb!

The mantis puppet is SO cute :O it's so full of life and character! Your fursuit is adorable as well, I don't think I've ever seen a hummingbird moth as a fursona but they seem so friendly and fuzzy :D looking forward to seeing you around!
My name is JTAG and I am an engineer weasel!

This is JPEG! He was my sweet Dorcus Titanus Castinocolor beetle. This was his first birthday when he got to enjoy his little banana and jelly cake.

Puppetry for me so far has been very improvisational! So far, I haven't really implemented any more sophisticated parts/mechanisms for movement, but I want to experiment with it soon! Honestly the most challenging thing for me has been making little clothes haha. (I was not super experienced with sewing when I made the puppets I mentioned before, so going into miniature garment making was absolutely just vibes)

Tysm!!! I really love how my little guy came out and am eventually planning on remaking him with more updated skills. Crispin, (my hummingbird moth sona) was made because Cat encouraged me to make a fursuit after they made their original needle felt one. Picking something was very hard because I felt inclined to go with something mammal, but I just didn't really click with any. Thankfully, I stumbled across a couple photos of the Humming bird moths and remembered how cute they are + thought designing a fursuit for one would be way easier than a mantis (my other sona haha). I'm very very happy with how he came out and in general he's one of my fav designs I've made. I'd still love to attempt a mantis suit though, but I think I would need to get much better at hand-sewing minky or fleece lol..
